We Will Know: line, line segment, perpendicular, vertices, coordinate pair, ordered pair

We Will Understand: that geometry plays an important role during design and modeling

We Will Be Able To: use geometry to help create our puzzle pieces and other challenges in GeoGebra

Part 4: Explore Coordinate Planes & Shapes
Lesson 2.1 Step 12: The Coordinate System (video)
Step 13: Coordinate Plane Interactive Challenge
Steps 14-22. Take a Snippit and save to a new Google Doc. Be sure to label your work!

Part 5: Investigate Solid Shapes
Lesson 2.1 Step 23: 3D Coordinate Shape Video
Step 24: 3D Coordinate System Interactive Challenge
       Steps 25-34: Complete this!

Part 6: Solid Modeling
Lesson 2.1 Step 35-39. Take a Snippit of your puzzle part and save to your Google Doc. Label!

Part 7: Using Nets (NOT optional)
Lesson 2.1 Steps 43-48. Does your net open? Show me, take a Snippit, and save!

Project 2.3: Puzzle Cube Statistical Analysis
Read the Introduction
Step 5: Watch the Statistical Analysis Video (can be found under resources also)
Step 6: Watch the Statistical Analysis Video
Any notes that you take in your engineering video may be used on our quizzes and tests! After watching the Statistical Analysis Video, skip to step 10! Go back and watch the video as you create your box and whiskers plot. Please be sure to create the spreadsheet exactly as they did in the video! All of your data that you input must be in seconds. Do not worry about the adults’ data! You only need 5 people (peers or parents will work). Take a Snippit and save!

Compare your box- and- whisker plot with a friend. Answer conclusion questions 3 & 4 in your notebook underneath your box-and- whisker plot. Hurrah! You are complete with your work!

Challenges to try!

Mug Challenge (lesson 2.1, step 24)

Create your idea of a 2D robot using multiple (at least four) different shapes. If you think you are done, try and make the robot 3D on the other side.

Create your entire puzzle cube using GeoGebra! It's been done!
