Dear Families,
On Thursday, December 22nd, we have a lot of exciting things happening! First, we are heading to the movie theatre in Bellaire to see “Sing.” All students will receive admission, a small popcorn, and a small pop for free! Please send additional money for candy if desired. We will return to CSI right before our regularly scheduled lunch period. These permission slips were sent home on Monday and must be returned ASAP.
At 12:40, we will be having our classroom Christmas party. In an effort to be sensitive to all of our families, we will NOT be exchanging gifts. Anyone wishing to donate snack or drink items, we will gladly accept. Our tummies thank you in advance for your generosity!
Next, homework packets will look a little differently next Friday. Students will continue to work on their reading logs, but will have a fun writing assignment, asking them to write about their winter break. Students are expected to write at least a paragraph for each snapshot, and MUST write in complete sentences with appropriate punctuation and capital letters. They will be sharing these when they return from break.
Finally, I have explained to students that it is CRUCIAL that they know their multiplication facts before they return from break as they will begin learning how to solve 2 by 2 digit multiplication and division (and much larger problems). Students who have not mastered their facts when they return will be staying in for recess until they have mastered all facts. So thank you very much for helping your child to work on this at home.
I hope that you all have a safe and enjoyable Christmas with your families!
Merry Christmas,
Mrs. Raymond
