What's Happening in our Room
Dear Families,
If you have had a chance to look at Power School lately, you will notice that they were able to save some of our data. There were many assignments, however, that were lost. In the future, I will try my best to make PDF files after entering grades. Also, writing pieces were sent home last week. It took a great deal of time as I gave feedback and suggestions as to what our little writers can do to strengthen their writing pieces. Overall, I was greatly impressed with the improvement that everyone had made. If the writing piece and rubric did not make it home, I would be more than happy to make you a copy. Just let me know!
We are also finished with our multiplication unit and will begin division today. Unit 2 pre and post tests have been entered into Power School. Again, I was extremely thrilled at how much growth students were able to make. Many students are still struggling with multi-step multiplication word problems, so you will see more of this coming home for homework. I also have students who are struggling with basic math facts. Please continue to work with your child at home on these! I will also be asking those students to work on their math facts at lunch with me.
Next, we will begin working on our opinion pieces this week and we are continuing to learn about government in social studies. This Thursday and Friday are half days for students as teachers will be wrapping up report cards. Oh, and we also won another grant through Meemic! Our class will soon be getting a new cd player to go with our new head phone center that we won through a Lake Shore Learning Grant!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me!
Thanks so much for your support,
Mrs. Raymond
